Excavation Works & Discovery of Additional Underground Damage

As part of the main electricity cable replacement project, excavation work officially began in front of Block A at Toprak Panorama. This essential phase revealed not only the expected cable deterioration but also critical hidden infrastructure issues beneath the surface.

🔍 Unexpected Findings During Digging:

Leaking water pipe: A pressurized pipe was found to be leaking underground, creating a potential long-term threat to both the foundation and nearby installations.

Rust and corrosion: Severe rust was discovered on multiple metal components near the cable ducts, indicating advanced decay and years of moisture exposure.

Crowded and unprotected lines: The area was congested with various old pipes and electrical conduits, many of which were not properly shielded or mapped.

🧱 Action Taken:

The broken water pipe was repaired using new fittings to prevent further leakage.

The affected metal structures were cleared and replaced as necessary.

The trench was deepened and prepared for the safe installation of the new main electric cable, along with protective casing.

💡 Why This Matters:
These findings confirmed that this replacement project was not only timely but critical. Left unattended, these underground issues could have led to repeated failures or property damage in the future.

The excavation phase is now complete, and preparations are underway for installing the new cable line in a safer, more secure underground environment.
